Estate Planning

Estate planning can be as simple as visiting an attorney to establish a living trust or it can be as complex as creating many multi-generational structures. In particular, we specialize in estate planning that involves the use of charitable planning, including split interest vehicles (Charitable Remainder Trusts and Charitable Lead Trusts), and Private Family Foundations. Many of these structures allow the control of wealth to be transferred to the next generation while simultaneously avoiding the unpopular estate tax. This estate planning process is usually very complex and often requires the help of outside counsel. We work in conjunction with many leading lawyers and accountants in Northern California to provide our clients with access to a wide selection of such talent.
